I put all the dining from Anantara Peace Haven in a single post.

For my first evening, I went to their Italian restaurant Il Mare. It's a gorgeous restaurant located right above rocks that have waves crash on them, providing great sound and visuals.

The restaurant bar.

Unfortunately it started to rain so everyone had to move inside, not as fun as sitting outside, but still really nice.

ree

A resort take on Italian place settings.

ree

The menu overall looked really good, albeit international resort pricing as well.

ree

Starting things off with a great bread basket with olive oil and balsamic, but also a pesto and roasted garlic, fantastic!

ree

Then an amuse of eggplant and cheese, really nice.

ree

I started with the tuna tartare, definitely an ocean bend, but really fresh.

ree

Then a mango sorbet intermezzo, this was good, but I'd suggest to them that the intermezzo should come after the mains, especially because if you're having wine it can mess with your palate.

ree

For my main I went with beef ravioli and saffron cream, it was fantastic!

ree

For dessert I went with hazelnut-chocolate ball with berry compote, it was really nice and a great way to end the meal.

ree

Some chocolates as a send off gift for the night!

ree

The next night I went to Verela, the Sri Lanka and Japanese teppanyaki restaurant. It had a cool vibe with two sides.

ree

While they had tables, I was seated right besides the grill.

ree

As it turned out, two other Americans were also seated next to me and we all quickly bonded with our chef Supun our chef who was great, even getting us to participate!

ree

He did a great job entertaining us, plus cooking of course.

ree

No matter how old one gets, the volcano is always awesome.

ree

No messing around here!

ree

Then our mains being cooked, I went with lobster and lamb while my new friends went with salmon and lagoon prawns. The lagoon prawns were massive, way bigger than the lobster.

ree

The feast presented in the shell, everything was so good, but also I realized as typical with me, I ordered too much.

ree

Finally for dessert we had a crepe with ice cream, quickly toasted up. I didn't get a pic of the final product since we were all having such a good time.

ree

For my final night I went back to Il Mare and to eat on the balcony.

ree

The elegant place setting.

ree

Amuse of bruschetta.

ree

Then I had to have the amazing beef and saffron ravioli again.

ree

Then I went with the steak which was good, but not 150-day dry aged as the menu suggested based on taste, but I didn't bother to complain since it was still a good quality steak.

ree

Then to finish things off with the chocolate ball, fantastic!

The restaurants at Anantara are great, for perspective though, they're not Michelin level, but really solid resort restaurants. At Il Mare, Nuwan the manager does a great job making sure every guest feels like family and you can tell he imparts that to his staff as well. At Verela, Supan did a great job entertaining and engaging guests along with making great food. There is also a nightly buffet which rotates daily with different themes. This just ties everything together at Anantara Peace Haven to make it very relaxing for guests.
