I made the trek from the United terminal to TBIT through the usual LAX labyrinth.

On my way, could spot our Asiana A380 that would ferry us to ICN.

After making my way to TBIT, my friend and I met up and headed upstairs to check out the Star Alliance First Class and regular Star Alliance lounges.

ree

The entry to the Star Alliance First Class lounge was right next to the regular Star Alliance lounge.

ree

An elegant entryway and artwork.

ree

The lounge itself isn't that big, but it's classy and frankly better than I was expecting based on reviews.

ree

There were self service food and drinks bars as well as menus for ala carte dining.

ree

Nice bathrooms, but showers were in the business class/Star Alliance lounge next door.

ree

A nice selection of desserts and refreshments.

ree

Solid drinks options.

ree

The menu for ala carte dining.

ree

We decided to sit on the couches instead of the tables at the other end since we planned to get a few bites rather than a whole meal.

ree

Back to checking out the food bar, I LOVED the fact they had Milanos, they are my weakness.

ree

Then over to grab some bubbly and surprisingly for a lounge, they had Beau Joie rose. It was excellent with a fresh strawberry nose, strawberry, tart apple and slight toasty body that was wonderful.

ree

For food we asked to split the Korean BBQ tacos and Poke taco. Both were excellent, fresh, tasty and really hit the spot. We finished things off with what was like a good rice pudding and mango.

ree

All together, I enjoyed the lounge more than I was expecting, and wouldn't mind spending more time here. Sure it's not as big and not as nice of a menu as the nearby Qantas First Class lounge, but it's certainly not bad. If you need more room and scenery, the attached business class lounge does just fine.
