After leaving The Wing, I decided to walk to The Pier, it's solid 20-minute walk and you can take the train there towards, but can only walk back towards The Wing. At the end of the terminal is a sign that is easy to miss with escalators heading downstairs.

Down we go.

And the first glimpse of the beautiful lounge.

The decor is incredibly zen, relaxing and classy.

As you walk in, the hallway has gorgeous wood tables, plants and fixtures.

At one end of the lounge is a bar with seating around the bar itself and surrounding area.

ree

Nice seating along the window with views after the condensation outside burned off.

ree

More lounge areas.

A reading nook/hallway.

Then a business center with private rooms, great to make phone calls if needed.

ree

Then the spa area where you can have a massage, showers and rest rooms.

ree

The rooms were great with fantastic views of the apron.

Back into the main area of the lounge, at the end is the dining room.

I decided to have a small breakfast since the breakfast on the plane was almost 6-hours earlier by this point.

ree

I went with the Chinese Set, all was tasty.

ree

Back out of the restaurant and towards the bar was a side room with tasty bites.

After checking things out and relaxing for a bit, I headed to leave the airport and meet ShF for lunch in Hong Kong.

Later in the day I got back to spend the rest of my time at HKG in The Pier. First order of business was taking a shower. Great shower rooms, although ventilation could definitely be improved.

After my shower, I went to the dining room for some dinner. Great view of a BA 380 getting prepped.

I started with the smoked salmon and fennel salad, it was good, but not amazing.

ree

I went with wonton soup which was perfect with chili paste.

ree

After dinner, I went back to the lounge area to relax, take care of emails and watch the BA 380 start to push back.

ree

Of course with some port and opera cake :)

After relaxing a bit more, it was time to head towards The Wing and my gate for my flight to Colombo.

The Pier is a great lounge, definitely fitting of a first class lounge between the decor, service, amenities and food - definitely would recommend it!
