After sleeping in, I decided to have an early lunch at the restaurant in the hotel. Luckily Costes Downtown has a Michelin star and provided me with a great opportunity to try another good restaurant in this beautiful city.

The decor was modern, yet classy - I love the living wall!

Simple place settings.

Thin fried crisps were brought out and seasoned with Hungarian Paprika and some with squid ink. There was a bernaise dipping sauce which went perfectly with it.

Then amazing freshly baked bread with both a regular butter (done as shavings) and sweet flavored butter. Both were amazing and it was hard to limit myself to just a roll, I wanted to eat the entire basket!

The first wine of lunch, a crisp white that was very Chablis like.

Trying to be somewhat healthy with a salad, crunchy carrots on top and a root puree on the bottom.

Then an amazing halibut dish.

The broth was amazing and together the dish was just a fantastic blend of textures, flavors and temperatures.

Trying to not get too full, I had parsley risotto which was flavorful, but a bit too al dente for my liking.

ree

Of course while in Hungary, must have Tokaji any time possible.

ree

Then a more tropical cake with caramel ice cream and pineapple, perfect!

Costes Downtown impressed me and I'd recommend making a stop here if you're in town.
